Choose the level of cover that suits your needs, with a monthly add-on from just £3.99.

Your boiler cover helps you look after your boiler. Home Emergency Cover is an optional add-on designed to provide support with certain urgent emergencies involving eligible plumbing, internal drainage and fixed electrical installations.

With three monthly options available, you can choose the customer contribution that works best for you if a claim is accepted. Whether you want a lower monthly cost or prefer a £0 customer contribution per accepted claim, Nexgen Protect offers a choice to suit your preferences.

Important: Home Emergency Cover is an add-on, not a standalone plan. You must have an active Nexgen Protect plan to be eligible.

Home Emergency Protection Add-on

Home Emergency Cover applies to eligible urgent emergencies in the areas described below, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions in the service agreement.

Eligible Emergency Plumbing

Emergency isolation and repair of sudden, uncontrollable leaks or ruptured internal water supply pipes causing active damage.

Eligible Internal Drainage

Emergency clearance of sudden blockages within internal waste pipes or soil stack causing urgent sanitary hazard.

Fixed Electrical Installation

Urgent faults within the fixed electrical installation that create an immediate safety concern or material loss of an essential service.

Note: Home Emergency Cover does not mean every plumbing, drainage or electrical issue is covered. The fault must meet the service agreement’s definition of an eligible emergency, and all applicable terms, limits and exclusions apply.

What Counts as a Fixed Electrical Emergency?

Electrical cover is specifically for eligible urgent faults within the fixed electrical installation that create an immediate safety concern or a material loss of an essential service. It is not cover for household appliances or plug-in equipment. Examples that should not be presented as covered include:
  • Washing machines, fridges and other white goods.
  • Televisions.
  • Chargers, lamps and bulbs.
  • Batteries.
  • Smart-home or other plug-in equipment.
  • Electric or digital showers and shower pumps.
For the full details of what qualifies, please refer to the current Home Emergency service agreement.

What Is Not Included?

Home Emergency Cover is intended for eligible emergencies, not general property upkeep or every repair requirement.

The following should not be advertised as covered under this add-on:

  • Routine maintenance.
  • Gradual deterioration.
  • Cosmetic issues.
  • General non-emergency repairs.
  • Appliances and plug-in electrical equipment.
  • Destructive access and making good, unless expressly stated in the service agreement.

These are important distinctions. Eligibility, exclusions and the precise scope of assistance are determined by the current service agreement.
